WWW Wednesdays 8-23-2017

WWW Wednesdays is a weekly meme that was previously hosted by Should Be Reading and is now hosted by Taking on a World of Words.

To play along you just had to answer the following three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

This week is also Bout of Books #20 so I am going to attempt to track my reading progress thus far as well.

Recently Read

I finished two books this week! The first is The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin, which was on my ARC August TBR List. I am actually quite proud of myself, this is this fourth book I’ve read from that list and it is a great read. I was going to sit on my review until closer to the January 9th release date, but I just can’t. I am too excited, and I highly doubt it is going to disappear from my blog very quickly.

I also read The Gravity of Us by Brittainy C. Cherry which I finished yesterday. I am still kind of processing my thoughts, but I am hoping to have a review written by the end of the week.

Currently Reading

I moved from The Gravity of Us right into The Sun is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon. This is the book club pick for next week and I am determined to finish it. In the first 50 pages it’s been an easy read. I don’t want to say light because it is dealing with some heavy topics, but I am finding Yoon’s writing style in this one to be really intriguing. I want to see where it goes.

I switched my audiobook because I just wasn’t feeling the genre right now. This weekend I got my mom set up to listen to audiobooks on her drive to work, and I had her pick an audiobook from my account to share with her. She landed on Where’d You Go Bernadette by Maria Semple. I decided to start listening too because she’s enjoying it and I wanted to see what she was talking about, and this is a story that’s more my speed right now. It actually has me laughing a lot. I love the narration.

Yep, still trying to remember to pick up Almost Famous Women.

What Will I Read Next

Speaking of my mom, she just recommended Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult to me. The thing is, it’s just under 500-pages and covers a topic that may be a little hard to process with current events. (And yet, I’m still going to read it!)

To balance it out though I am going to try to simultaneously read one more ARC before the month ends and it will probably be Indelible by Adelia Saunders, because I keep coming back to that one, or See What I Have Done by Sarah Schmidt.

Depending on how quickly the book club read goes, I may have time for both!

That does it for this week’s WWW Wednesday what are you reading this week? Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. You’ve featured so many books with pretty covers! The Immortalists looks amazing! I read Small Great Things back in the day when it was #readwithoutprejudice and we didn’t know the synopsis or the author!! I loved it though. I hope you enjoy it! ❤

  2. I am really interested in reading See What I Have Done. I read Burial Rites and loved it, and I feel like they are a similar genre. Plus, the cover is amazing. I hope you go for that one so I can see what you think of it! Haha.

    1. Thank you! I am thinking of starting it today. I want to read The Sun is Also a Star but it is also kind of irritating me. Worried I may have overdosed on saccharine romance so I may have to read that in parallel!
